SmashDraw turns your phone into a full tournament control room. Set up a knockout or group-stage bracket in seconds, share one code or link, and everyone's scores update live — no spreadsheets, no group-chat score updates, no paper draw sheet taped to a wall.
It scales from a Sunday pickup game between friends all the way up to a multi-day, multi-category team league with its own custom rules, roster eligibility, and awards.

Hi, I'm Nameet Mehta — I built SmashDraw myself, start to finish. I was tired of running tournaments through screenshots, WhatsApp groups, and hand-drawn brackets, so I built the tool I actually wanted to use. How to use this guide
Each section stands on its own — you don't need to read start to finish. If you just joined a team, skip straight to Event Hub. Setting up a tournament for your club? Start at Roles to see who does what.
Creating an account takes under a minute, and most of what you do as a player never needs one at all.
Signing up
Open the link you were sent (or the app directly) → tap Sign up → name, email, a password (6+ characters) → you're straight into Home.
Already got a join link or code? Open it before you sign up, or paste the code in once you're signed in — SmashDraw remembers it and joins you automatically the moment your account is ready.
Home — your two free-tier starting points, plus anything you've joined
For a regular free account, Home offers exactly two ways to start something yourself: Instant Game (a one-off bracket, right now) and Groups (a recurring club/circle that runs season after season). Anything else — Corporate Events, Organisational Leagues — you join, you don't create.
Every screen you see is shaped by your role — you're only ever shown what your role can actually do.

Roles stack — an event admin is also a member of their own event, a captain is also a player. Whatever your highest role is for a given event, that's the screen you land on.
The fastest way to run a bracket — for a pickup game that starts in the next five minutes and never needs setting up again.
- From Home, tap ⚡ Instant Game.
- Name it and pick a sport.
- Add player names directly — nobody else needs an account or to sign in.
- SmashDraw builds the bracket automatically; tap a winner to advance them.
No accounts, no faff. Everyone's names go in by hand, and whoever's phone it's on records every score directly.
A Group is a standing circle — your club, your regular weekly game — that people join once. Inside it, start a new Season every time you actually play.

Home → + New under Groups. Share the join code once — everyone joins the group itself, not each season.
Start a season
Inside the group, start a new season whenever you're ready — pick knockout or group-stage, and the bracket builds itself from whoever's in the group.
Groups are the free-tier equivalent of a small club — the group's admin (and any co-admins) records results directly. There's no separate scorer role or awards system at this tier; that level of structure lives in Corporate Events & Leagues below.
Every tournament, group, organisation, and event has a short join code — and usually a link that does the same thing in one tap.
- Got a link? Just open it — sign up or log in first if you need to, SmashDraw finishes joining automatically.
- Got a code? From Home, tap 🔑 Got a code? and type it in — SmashDraw figures out on its own what kind of code it is.
A public results link isn't a join link. Organisations and events also publish a read-only, no-login link for spectators. That link never adds you to a team — use the join code/link specifically if you want to actually play.
These live inside an Organisation — a club, company, or court that runs its own tournaments for its people. Organisations are set up for you, not self-serve, so every event is properly owned from day one.

Fixed, ready-made rules. Pick your sports, each becomes its own standard bracket, one shared roster, standings tally automatically. Right for a company sports day.
🏆 Organisational League
Fully custom — categories, eligibility, trump/tiebreak rules, per-stage scoring, roster rules, awards — configured without writing code. Right for a real competitive league.

The Event Hub — your team, next match, and the live league table
You'll also find a Court view here for League events — a live, court-by-court look at what's playing where, what's next on each court, and previous results per court.
In a League event, a captain has exactly one extra job: submitting their team's line-up before each tie.
- When a line-up is needed, a banner appears at the top of your Event Hub — "Line-up needed" — tap it.
- For each category, choose your players. Eligibility (age, gender, appearance limits) is checked live, with a clear message if a combination isn't allowed.
- Lock it in. Your line-up stays hidden from the opposing captain until both sides have locked in.
Blind submission, by design. Both captains submit independently and simultaneously — enforced by the system, not by trust.
A scorer's whole world is entering results, fast — nothing else clutters the screen.

Scoring a League tie
- Assign a waiting tie to the physical court it's being played on — you'll only see courts you're personally authorised for.
- Tap that court's Score this tie button — scoring only ever happens from the court placeholder, never by tapping a fixture card directly.
- Enter each rubber's result as it finishes, or mark a category voided if neither side can field it.
For a standard bracket (Corporate Event or free-tier), it's even simpler — tap the side that won.
Every result updates live everywhere at once — the admin dashboard, every player's Event Hub, the TV cast screen, and the public results link.
One dashboard, whether the event belongs to an organisation or was bought standalone — same tabs, same control.
Handing this off to someone else? Settings → Delegate access → generate an invite link. Whoever opens it becomes an event admin for exactly this event — nothing more.
The Org Console is where an organisation's admin creates events, watches everything happening across the org, and manages who else helps run it.
- + New Event always forks into Corporate Event or Organisational League — never a bare, unstructured tournament.
- Promote a co-admin from the Members tab once they've joined with the org's code.
- Set the org's court count once in its settings — every League event under this org uses that number automatically, on the scorer board, court view, and live dashboard.
Your name, your activity history across every tournament you've played, and — if you administer anything — quick access to the console you manage. Tap your profile icon any time to edit your name, review match history, or sign out.
Is SmashDraw free to use?
Yes — everything a normal player, captain, or scorer needs is free: Instant Games, Groups & Seasons, joining any tournament/event/organisation with a code or link, live scores and standings, the Event Hub, Court view, cast screen, and public results links. The only thing that isn't self-serve is creating an Organisation, Corporate Event, or Organisational League — reach out at nameetmehta26@gmail.com for those.
Do the players in my Instant Game need an account?
No — you add their names directly, and whoever's running the game records every score.
What's the difference between a Season and a League?
A Season is a simple knockout/group-stage bracket for a free-tier group — no custom rules, no scorer role. A League is the fully custom, organisation-level format with its own eligibility rules and per-stage scoring.
I'm a captain — why can't I see the other team's line-up yet?
By design. Line-ups stay hidden until both captains have locked theirs in.
Can I create an organisation myself?
Not self-serve — see the Contact section below.
I'm a scorer — why can't I tap a fixture card to score it?
Scoring only happens through a court placeholder, once you've assigned that fixture to the court it's actually being played on.
Does the public results link let people join my event?
No — it's read-only, for spectators. Use the join code or join link from Settings to actually join.
